INGREDIENTS

Grapeseed oil. Beeswax. Comfrey root (Symphytum officinalis radix). Marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis flos). St. John’s Wort aerial parts (Hypericum perforatum herba)

Grapeseed oil is anti inflammatory, and soothing to the skin. Beeswax is protective and anti inflammatory, as well as being antimicrobial.

The herbs are infused in the oil at a steady heat for several days so that the healing properties are extracted as gently and as thoroughly as possible. After straining, beeswax is added to the oil, and that’s it! Nothing else is added, no scent or preservatives, and no thinners or thickeners either.

The herbs are chosen for their helpful properties, and combined with the intention to create a helpful, soothing ointment with a wide range of applications.

Comfrey root is traditionally known as Knit-bone, with a reputation for closing fresh wounds, enabling healthy growth of new tissue, and breaking down adhesions and scars in old wounds. It is included here with the intention to support structural repair.

Marigold is respected everywhere for its reputation as a swift wound healer, especially at the surfaces. It is often used in remedies for the skin, fascia, vessel walls, and membranes. It enables healthy ordered growth of new cells, and thus reduces scarring. It is often partnered with Comfrey in traditional wound remedies.

St John’s Wort has an ancient reputation as a wound healer, especially where the nerves are involved. Traditionally used for burns and other wounds where the tissue is deeply compromised, it is used in this ointment to support and enhance the work of the other herbs.
